Cara Smart brings nearly two decades of experience in midwifery, clinical leadership, mentorship, and learner-centred education to her role as Lead Facilitator for Health Leadership. She is passionate about creating transformative learning experiences that help current and emerging health leaders thrive.
With research and teaching interests in behavioural change, mental health, health equity, and adult learning, Cara is deeply committed to supporting equitable and future-focused healthcare in Aotearoa. She is currently completing her Masters of Contemporary Education with academyEX, continuing to explore innovative, interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning.
Cara once presented the national weather forecast, and she jokes her life is a mix of Call the Midwife! and Everything Everywhere All at Once! — a fitting reflection of her energy, curiosity, and drive to guide others through change.
